Grape Tree Café

This quaint, beachside hut is home to some of the best fried fish and fritters in the Cayman Islands. Located in the residential district of Bodden Town, you’ll spot Grape Tree Cafe’s yellow hut just behind the Rubis gas station (which is also where visitors can park). For years they have been selling an array of Caribbean fish - grouper, snapper and mahi mahi - with fritters, fried breadfruit and fried plantain. Make sure to fill a small cup with extra escovitch - a traditional vinegar-based sauce with onions, carrots and peppers - to drizzle on top later. Note that they also serve other Caribbean dishes, including conch soup, jerk pork/ chicken, fried chicken and more. Everything is served in to-go containers, so opt to take it with you or grab a seat at one of their colourful tables to enjoy sea view and breeze.
