Summertime in Camana Bay
With Cayman being ‘COVID-free’ for the past 3+ weeks, life on island is pretty much back to normal. Even though offices are not back to being ‘business as usual’, Camana Bay is looking more and more lively with restaurants, shops and even the cinema reopening. Here are some of my favourite things happening in Camana Bay that you and your family can add to your to-do-list this summer.
The Summer Supper Club is a steal of a deal happening every Thursday exclusively at Agua, Abacus & Mizu. For only CI$33 you’ll enjoy a 3-course meal at each restaurant and you can add a bottle of wine on as they’re all discounted at 25% off. I had the pleasure of dining at Abacus’ Supper Club and I really enjoyed the flavours and creativity that they brought to each dish. The Supper Club menus change every week or so, with Abacus and Agua choosing to use fresh local ingredients in their creations. The restaurants can get busy so make sure to book a reservation between 5:30-10pm to take advantage of this deal.
The Farmer’s Market in Camana Bay has recently reopened and means anyone along the Seven Mile Beach area can easily access local produce once again. I’ve been eating more of a vegetarian diet these past few weeks so this is right up my alley. You can find a selection of farmer’s stalls on the Paseo every Wednesday from 10am-7pm.
Seeing that we aren’t travelling abroad anytime soon why not take your family on a local adventure and explore this massive property using their ‘Passport to Camana Bay’. You can grab a free copy from the Camana Bay Visitor Centre and go on a scavenger hunt to locate murals, fountains, gardens and more.
Lastly, you can support local musicians by checking out the Summer Music Series that takes place every Wednesday and Saturday in Camana Bay. Each week they invite 3 different artists to perform in 3 locations across the town centre. This is the brainchild of multiple businesses of the Camana Bay community to bring a new dynamic to the town. Performances take place on Wednesday from 5-8pm and Saturday from 11am-2pm and 5-8pm.
These are the things I enjoy most around Camana Bay this summer, but there is so much more happening including happy hour deals, brunches and even kids’ camps. Learn more by visiting their ‘Destination Summer’ website by clicking here.
